Primary arms micro prism11/8/2022 ![]() ![]() Prism optics definitely have their own cheering section online but keep in mind of these negatives as we go into the hands-on testing section. Price point of “nice” ones are around $250 and in the ballpark of low power variable optics (LPVOs).Illuminated reticles aren’t all day light bright.Not as forgiving parallax and eye relief compared to red dots.(good things) The size could be slightly wider for easier adjustment or a more aggressive knurling to allow for easier adjustment.A visual representation of what a red dot sight might look like to folks who suffer from astigmatism My biggest issue is the diopter knob adjustment. The 1 MOA clicks are more of an issue beyond 50 yards. The illumination dial is moderately in the field of view but not so much that it is a major issue. There are 3 things that could stand improvement. It sighted in quick/accurate on 300 blackout/458 SOCOM. I don't get the whole and complete sight picture (about 90%) but the reticle is sized to allow for clear picture for my purposes and use. (may not be as intended but it works great) ![]() I mounted the cantilever mid mount and face it forward. I mounted farther up the rail to allow for 3x compact magnifier to mount behind it. I use these as red dot replacement because of the etched reticle and it exceeds my expectations.
